Awww I get it- it is really hard to let go of a magical place where so many memories were made/ but also it sounds like it was a life- changing place. Give it the gratitude it deserves (sounds like you are!) and remember- you’re doing this on your own terms and not waiting for a hurricane. I know that sounds pessimistic, but my mom and dad live on a small island in the Bahamas, but it’s not right on the water and is up on a hill which is why I think it’s survived for the last 100 years. It is a beautiful and special place – my children love it.
The out islands are gorgeous, Jen. Your parents must love their place. We have survived a hurricane or two. One caused major damage to the outside space (which we rebuilt better), but the house itself is over 100 years-old and is like a bunker when hurricane prepped. They knew how to build them back then.
Loved this. It made me sad and happy at the same time. And inspired. Bravo 👏
It makes me sad and happy at the same time too, Angelique!
No beginnings without endings. Look forward to hearing about your next beginning.
Very true! And a mantra to keep at the front of my mind.
